What's On My I-Tunes: Sci-fi MOODS
After downloading the soundtrack to the ultra cool 80's pastiche action movie DRIVE, I realized I have too much fucking music on my I-Tunes. With over nineteen thousand songs and eighty playlists, I can safely say that I have a problem. Fuck it! I love music and to show my appreciation for human kind's most valued form of art, I'm going to share with you all a playlist on my I-Tunes. I call it...
Yes, my playlist is inspired by PURE MOODS, a series of compilation Cds featuring new age, ambient, world electronic music. I'm talking about music made famous by ENYA, YANNI, DELERIUM, and mutha fuckin' ENIGMA! Back in the day, if you didn't have any Prozac or sleeping pills, place a pure-moods Cd in your Cd player or tape player(yes it's that old) and listen to it until you start imagining chocolate covered unicorns flying around you while you lay comfortably on top of a nimbus cloud, overlooking a gorgeous night time sky.
Anyway, VIRGIN RECORDS released four pure moods Cd compilations. The first pure-moods Cd was initially released in 1994 and re-released in 1997. I remember begging my mom when I was 12 to buy me the first one. The last compilation, Pure-moods 4, was released in 2002 and there hasn't been a new one ever since. After going through my music, I have a lot of ambient-new age-electronic music from and/or inspired by science fiction media.
Here's the playlist for SCI-fi Moods:
1)Tears In Rain
-Vangelis
2)The Sun’s Gone Dim and the Sky’s Turned Black
-Johann Jóhannsson
3)Stars
-Ulrich Schnauss
4)Theme To "Monsters"
-Jon Hopkins
5)Setting Sun (Ulrich Schnauss Remix)
-Howling Bells
6)Panoramic (Theme To "The Book Of Eli")
-Atticus Ross
7)Two Planets
-Bat For Lashes
8)Pegasus
-Bear McCreary
9)Under the Milky Way
-Tearwave
10)Inama Nushif (Track From "Children Of Dune")
-Brian Tyler
11)Who Wants To Live Forever
-Sarah Brightman
12)Cosmic Love (Remix)
-Florence + the Machine
13)Define Dancing (Track From "Wall-E")
-Thomas Newman
14)The Nursery
-Clint Mansell
15)Aeons
-The Presets
16)Capa's Last Transmission Home (Track From "Sunshine")
-Underworld
17)Time (Clemens Ruh Rear Remix)
-Hans Zimmer
